the nyc sponsor me project

Hi!

I have been working on this little NYC SPONSOR ME PROJECT

Take a look!

Thank you for sharing this road with me. :)

Here is my bib number and information on how you can follow me through the five boroughs in the NYC Marathon this Sunday!

The artwork created itself!  And my race day jersey is here!

Thank you all so much for being a part of this and sharing your messages!  I am so ready to take a piece of each of you to New York with me.  We run Sunday!!

Thank you Lisa Schroeder for this sweet little mini spot.  When I think of Lisa, I think of laughter and smiles, true friendship and hugs.  When Lisa told me her mini spot idea, I just…smiled.  It’s perfect.  And it is an awesome reminder to smile, enjoy the journey and love each step.  Thank you Lisa!

Thank you Emily Hulce Patterson for being a Bronze Sponsor and sponsoring my trip to NYC!!  Her sweet son’s, Parker and Reid, are patting me on the back.  :)  Thank you Em.  I love it!  And I will need this encouragement!!

Thank you Cherish Edwards for this mini spot!  Cherish and I are of the same school of thought that Fat is Icky Poo!  Who isn’t?!  Well we have decided to do something about that.  We work our buns off.  We count points, calories and carbs.  We strive to live healthy lives, burning off fat forever!  We used to walk all over Newton together.  Now we RUN together!  Cherish is an amazing running partner and friend.  I am so thankful to have her in my life.

Thank you Jenny Keller Johnson for this cute little mini spot!  A hippo and a TV are what brought Jenny and I together as friends and roommates at K-State.  I was helping students move into the dorms my sophomore year and there was a cart with a hippo and a tv.  I wasn’t quite sure which room it belonged to.  “Who has the hippo and the tv?!”  They were Jenny’s and the rest is history.  :)

Thank you Kristi King for sponsoring my trip to NYC!!  Our Jack Russell Terrier’s will be runnin alongside, pushing me to the finish!  Kristi’s short one, Bailey, is on the right.  And my short one, Maxi, is on the left.

And actually…our two pups will probably be hangin out together here at home while I’m in New York.  It depends on how well Maxi treats the cat…  Thank you for everything, Kristi!

Thank you Brad Biddle for sponsoring my trip to NYC on the Silver Level.  Brad gave me a couple different options for the shirt.  One of them was a power cat, naturally.  Go State.  The other option was “KNOW YOU NEVER RUN ALONE.”  I really like this.  And it applies to running the greater race we all run…life.  Know that you are never alone.

Thank you Shelly Riemann for these $5 mini spots!  The power cat will be representing in the big apple!  EMAW!!

Thank you Shelly Riemann for these $5 mini spots!  The power cat will be representing in the big apple!

Thank you Carol Lujano for being a Bronze Sponsor and sponsoring my trip to NYC!!  Carol’s contribution to my race day shirt is: “Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.”  Exactly.  Love it.  Thank you so much Carol!

Thank you Leslie Ohlman for this $5 mini spot!  Mini spots are so cute!!  YOGOWYPI…You Only Get Out What You Put In!  It’s something Leslie’s coach said once during a sports camp years and years ago…and it’s stuck with with her.  :)

Becky gave me another Mini Spot!

My sister doesn’t think my race day shirt is tacky enough! It needs more junk! Images! Symbols! One Words! $5 for a mini spot on my shirt to speak your mind!

Thank you Bill & Pam Driver and Peter, Erin & Perri Crandall for being a Silver Sponsor.  I will be truckin through the five boroughs of NYC in memory of Dwight A. Driver, brother of Bill Driver, uncle of Erin Crandall.

Introducing Mini Spots! My sister doesn’t think my race day shirt is tacky enough! It needs more junk! Images! Symbols! One Words! $5 buys a mini spot on the shirt to speak your mind!

Cupcakes are on Becky Voth’s mind. Thanks for the image sister!

Thank you Craig A. Rhodes for being a Bronze Sponsor and sponsoring my trip to NYC!! Craig’s contribution to my race day shirt is: Illegitimi non carborundum. Don’t let “the man” grind you down!

Thank you Heather Hatcher for being a Bronze Sponsor!  Heather’s grandpa always said, “You have to have sticktuity!”  Keep at it til you get the job done.  Love the wisdom from our grandparents.  I think this one is gonna stick with me for life!  Thanks Heather!

Thank you Nick and Shelly Riemann for being Gold Sponsors for my trip to NYC!  While I was designing Nick and Shelly’s wedding invites earlier this year, we incorporated Live Laugh Love on the save the date cards.  So I was excited to see they chose Live Laugh Love Run! to represent the two of them on my shirt!  It’s perfect.  It is so them.

I would like to thank my mom and dad, Barb and Jim Voth, for being Gold Sponsors!!  Mom’s running mantra for years has been “guide my feet.”  These words are also engraved in her Road ID bracelet.  Thank you mom and dad!!  Love you!

Thank you Darin Augustine for being a Silver Sponsor.  I will be running in memory of Taylor Elizabeth Augustine, daughter of Darin and Jill Augustine, sister of Chloe Augustine.

Thank you Mike and Kathie Roberts for being a Silver Sponsor!  Their contribution to my race day shirt was also Carpe diem.  When I told Mike that my brother had chosen the same thing, he said to me, “Well, Carpe Manana!”  Seize tomorrow!  And so it is.

And I would also like to give a special thanks to Mike Roberts for giving me the spark that drove this entire project.  Love you guys!

Thank you Nathan Williams, Ben Voth and Anna Voth for being a Silver Sponsor and sponsoring my trip to NYC!!  For their contribution to my race day shirt, Ben sent me a screen shot from the movie, Torque, with Martin Henderson’s character wearing his bright red motorcycle racing jacket that says ‘Carpe diem’ across the front.  Live for the day.  Thanks again you guys!

Thank you Bev Schuster for sponsoring my trip to NYC.  I will be running in honor of Devan Carri Schuster, granddaughter of Bev Schuster.

Thank you Kasey Candea-Kromm for being a Bronze Sponsor!  I helped Kasey design a shirt for AVID at her school, & as payment, I acquired another sponsor!  AVID is a program within the school districts that offers students career education and college preparation by teaching them learning strategies.  AVID’s slogan at Pleasant Valley is Roaring to College.  So as a fun play on words, we went with Roaring to the Finish Line!

Thank you Jaclyn Turner for being a Silver Sponsor and sponsoring my trip to NYC!! Jackie is my inspiring photographing running friend!  Jackie likes “to run. and photograph things. often at the same time.”  Look for her hashtag #amrunning on twitter and instagram.  Really!  Check her out!!  She is amazingly brilliant.  Love!

Thank you Carolyn Boos for sponsoring my trip to NYC!!  Carolyn has provided this Muhammad Ali quote for my race day jersey.  It’s a little inside joke we have together.  So inspirational, isn’t it?? ;)  “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.  His hands can’t hit what his eyes can’t see.  Now you see me, now you don’t.  George thinks he will, but I know he won’t.”
